Rolfing® Structural Integration
This holistic modality is based upon insights gained from anatomy, biomechanics and physics, developed by Dr. Ida Rolf (1896 – 1979). Its main focus is to bring balance and ease to upright posture respecting the laws of gravity. Effortlessness and more freedom of movements as well as a deeper and more efficient breath can be achieved.
Our unconsciously adopted posture is the result of environmental factors that influence our being: personal experiences, family influences, the way we use – or abuse – our body in every day life, whether at work or in our free time. Physical and emotional injuries are also imprinted in our body and can show in our posture.
There is one major reason to take Rolfing seriously: it works. Not only can it dramatically change people's bodies, it can transform their lives as well. Rolfing is powerfull stuff.Rolfing builds on 10 successive sessions, each one clearly defined by a goal and a specific body area. Slow and precise strokes allow freeing up the adhesions in the myofascial tissues.
According to Dr. Rolf each human being has an individual and optimal posture that be achieved through Rolfing.
This method can be enjoyed by people of all ages and its multi-faceted uses include:
- Acute or/and chronical pain
- muscle tension
- back-, head- and neck aches
- joint pain
- postural problems
- gnashing of teeth
